What We Do

Connecting Learning work with school leaders and their staff to capitalise on the power of new technologies and the physical environment. Drawing upon the experience of successful practicing headteachers, Academy Principals and experts and so can guarentee you the right people for the job. 

All our services and programmes are individually scoped, highly personalised and quality assured.  Below are some examples about current projects.  

CURRENT PROJECTS

 One to One Guide Book

The drive for 1-1 learning environments, through such things as the implementation of iPads, tablet devices and learners own devices, is rapidly challenging and changing the face of education.  Connecting Learning are currently working with a not-for-profit group, Education for Leadership (E4L), on an international research project that aims to support school leaders successfully embed 1-1 technologies and raise standards.  

Building on strong research, school leaders experiences and recognised best practice Connecting Learning will work with E4L to develop freely available guidance and quality assured strategic advice and professional development for school leaders and their teaching staff. Design for Learning Services

Connecting Learning work with some of the world leaders in relation to designing learning spaces and work with school leaders of all types of schools as they embark upon projects to redesign their learning spaces and develop complementary pedagogical models and curriculums. Currently working with Leeds City College to design Active Learning Zones and focus on change management and the development of practice with department teams.

Hannah and her team have been an excellent source of expert advice with regards to new technologies, learning spaces and design. The introductions to industry networks and contacts have been absolutely invaluable.

e-Strategy Development

Working with governments, local authorities, groups of schools and academies to review and strategically plan for sustainable improvement with ICT. Currently working with Wolverhampton local authority and their schools to review and plan for their revised city wide e-Strategy.For more information click here.

Connecting Learning work with governments, local authorities and groups of schools and academies to review their ICT provision and support them in strategic planning for school improvment through capitalising on the benefits of ICT and new technologies.

Having recently completed works for the Welsh Government we are currently working with Wolverhampton local authority and their schools to review and plan for their revised city wide e-Strategy.  Please contact us if you are looking for support in reviewing and developing your ICT provision and practice.

Supporting Academies and Free Schools

Connecting Learning has an established strategic alliance with the Independent Academies Association and works with academy leaders on a range of innovative projects in relation to ICT or the physcial environment.  Connecting Learning also work with schools that are considering academy status, academies that are developing their primary partnerships and with Free School promoter groups in the submission and delivery of their new school.  

The Hewens Academy Trust has found the support provided by Connecting Learning -they have a wealth of experience to draw upon from their team of practicing headteachers and education experts. They have challenged and supported us in shaping our vision for our new school in addition to managing the process. True value for money.

The EXite Leadership Programme

Backed by National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT), the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), the Independent Academies Association (IAA) and SSAT - the EXite leadership programme has been designed to maximise the impact on ICT and new technologies on learning and standards.  Conferences and Speaking Events

Connecting Learning team members speak regularly at school leadership and industry events.  Hannah Jones, Director Connecting Learning, will be speaking regularly at the BETT 2013 Conference, on Stephen Heppells are in the mornings and in various sessions in the afternoon including a video conferencing session on implementing 1-1 in schools with the researchers leading the project in Alaska.  Please contact us if you have a speaking event coming up and we can discuss the right speaker for you.

The keynotes and seminars (delivered by Connecting Learning) were very well received and many of the delegates commented that it really "spoke to them' and addressed many of their concerns about the adoption of digital technologies in their schools- some of the comments from our feedback form included: "Brilliant!", "Inspiring", "Important" and "A Wealth of experience and sense.

Designing Professional Development Courses

Connecting Learning are experienced programme designers and writers, both for face to face and online professional development for school leaders and teachers.
